What does Gigi Hadid have to do to get a solo cover of American Vogue? Exactly one year ago, Gigi made the cover of the American fashion bible alongside Olympic athlete Ashton Eaton and was joined by six of her fellow models on the magazine’s March cover this year. She’s now given the cover of Vogue‘s newly unveiled August issue — posing alongside boyfriend Zayn Malik. Nonetheless, the current face of Stuart Weitzman looks amazing as she cozies up to Zayn at the beach, with Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin capturing the sweet moment as the pair wear head-to-toe Gucci selected by stylist Tonne Goodman.
Members of our forums weren’t all to impressed. “That’s a dreadful cover. They look like they’re dressed in charity shop cast-offs, in the worst Doctor Who cosplay ever seen,” voiced tigerrouge upon checking out the cover.
“It’s just way too busy and way too Gucci. Gigi’s blazer doesn’t really match, and what’s that green mold spreading on Zayn? Easily the worst styled American Vogue cover I’ve ever laid eyes on,” Benn98 critiqued.
Apple wasn’t thrilled either. “What an eyesore! The idea of having them together on the cover sounds so desperate. Her hair doesn’t look good as well, it looks dirty. But the styling is the worst thing about this cover, it’s just too much, my eyes hurt,” he complained.
“What an ugly cover, wow! Not a single aspect of this I like. Just tragic!!” Miss Dalloway shared while in a state of shock.
“Why with Zayn? I’m sure Gigi can sell very well solo,” pointed out an unforgiving sixtdaily.
“I kind of applaud its difference in cover and styling terms, but that’s an eyesore. What on earth is wrong with Zayn’s hair? There’s no denying he’s got a very, very photogenic face, but he’s just not doing well here at all is he. I do however imagine this will be a sales push for a slow selling month. The power of a 1D star and a celeb couple,” acknowledged honeycombchild.
“What a joke,” laughed madzedre.
