Emilia Clarke Appears on Vogue China’s Disappointing August Cover, Shot by Terry Richardson

Emilia Clarke is one of those actresses whose beauty fails to come across in print (certainly not as much as it does on our TV screens, anyway). After a slew of less than impressive newsstand appearances, Emilia finally managed to charm our opinionated forum members with her current cover of ELLE. In full Game of Thrones promotion mode, Emilia now also appears on the cover of Vogue China’s August 2017 issue. Photographed by controversial photographer Terry Richardson, Emilia wears a feathered Calvin Klein number at the beach.

Our forum members simply weren’t here for Emilia’s latest. “I can’t tell how much I hate this, and the layout looks so dated like what they did ten years ago,” voiced MDNA the moment the cover struck.

“It doesn’t look like her. That pose looks unflattering and uncomfortable. My goodness that hair! Brush that hair! One can have a windblown cover but still manage to get a classy cover. This just looks like a dusty cheap wig,” critiqued MON.

“They need to stop with Terry Richardson,” complained anlabe32.

Apple shared the same sentiments: “Terry Richardson… why again? I don’t like this cover, as a big fan of GOT, I wish they did something better with Emilia, who looks totally unrecognizable and not in a good way!”

“This is awful. One of the worst covers this year,” proclaimed a horrified mathiaskatz.

“This is so bad it looks like it got to print by mistake. OOPS!” mocked Royal-Galliano.

“Jeez, this is just awful! The styling, the photography – what were they thinking? And just stop with Terry, please,” said [Piece Of Me].
