Kate Moss, Edie Campbell and More Celebrate Alexandra Shulman’s Last British Vogue Cover for the September Issue

If you hadn’t heard already, Alexandra Shulman is out at British Vogue and her final issue is here. Going out with a bang and closing the book after 25 years at the magazine, Shulman called on models past and present as she bows out with the all-important September issue. Kate Moss, Stella Tennant, Edie Campbell, Jean Campbell and Nora Attal pose together wearing Alexander McQueen, shot by long-time Vogue contributor Mario Testino.

Our forum members, unfortunately, simply weren’t in the mood to celebrate. “Forgettable cover for her last issue,” proclaimed Style Savvy the moment we got a sneak peek.

“What a bore! It really is such a shame. You would think Alexandra Shulman would go out with a bang?” quipped an underwhelmed fashionlover2001.

RedSmokeRise couldn’t have agreed more. “Unbelievably boring final farewell,” he said.

“It just perfectly encapsulates what Alexandra’s reign at the magazine has become. Bland, expected, badly executed and entirely disappointing. So in a way, it’s a very befitting end to her reign,” slammed honeycombchild.

“Truly, an end of an era! I will be buying this just to at my collection because it’s her last issue! The ladies look a little disconnected to one another, but of course my eyes go right to Kate Moss and Edie. Congrats to Nora for snatching a September issue,” commented RanThe.

Expressing the same sentiments was TheoG: “British Vogue just can’t seem to get the group cover right, the models always seem so disconnected from one another. But I’m pleased to see Nora. Great addition to the usual go-to British models.”

“Nothing groundbreaking, just a pretty group shot. Kate clearly dominates it and I’m glad to see all this McQueen on the cover. Excited for Edward Enninful’s reign to start!” declared Nepenthes.
