Porter #26 Summer 2018 : Karlie Kloss by Camilla Akrans

Not Even Karlie Kloss Can Save the Summer 2018 Cover of Porter

Once a firm forum favorite, Porter magazine seems to have lost some of its shine. Last month’s attempt at giving Natalie Portman a new look was declared a flop and it looks like the new cover for Summer 2018 may be headed for the same fate. Karlie Kloss returns to the front cover exactly three years after her last appearance. Photographed by Camilla Akrans and styled by Cathy Kasterine, the American model turned entrepreneur stars in the super closeup cover image while effortlessly pulling off a minimal makeup look.

Don’t count on our forum members rushing down to the newsstand. “Any recent covers of The Edit would make a more exciting cover than this. Karlie looks good but I feel like she can do better,” voiced TaylorBinque.

“I always enjoy Karlie in print but I can’t help but feel the shot is just too closeup?” pointed out honeycombchild.

“Too much in your face and her face isn’t interesting enough for such a closeup,” Nymphaea said.

GivenchyHomme felt the same way, writing, “Karlie could never pull of a closeup shot like this, even in her high fashion days. It’s a wasted opportunity because she can pose very well.”

“I think Karlie is a great fashion model, but for me, she works best as a head-to-toe package. If I wasn’t familiar with her name, that face might not instantly sell me a magazine,” shared tigerrouge.

“I’m really surprised this magazine is still going,” added 8eight while forum member russianelf went as far as to say, “I’m glad my subscription ended!”
