Max Mara F/W 2018.19 : Kris Grikaite by Steven Meisel

Kris Grikaite and Steven Meisel Make a Dream Team for Max Mara’s Fall 2018 Campaign

Steven Meisel is on a roll this campaign season, having shot for the likes of Versace, Moschino, Givenchy and Zara, to name just a few. Now the legendary lensman is back to photograph Max Mara’s campaign for Fall 2018. Following a clean and crisp Cara Taylor offering last season, Meisel photographs Russian beauty Kris Grikaite (a firm favorite of Prada) around a street-like setting as she dashes across the pavement in clothes styled by Carine Roitfeld.

Members of our forums were ecstatic over the outcome. “OMG, YESSS! Meisel FINALLY working with Kris!” said a delighted guimon.

“The real dream team,” stated helmutnotdead.

“I love this. Kris looks great and I’m happy the background is not white like in the previous campaigns,” Lausanne admired.

Yet the remainder of our forum members didn’t think the campaign was that groundbreaking. “Meisel knows how to bring out the best in models and Kris is one of the most stunning creatures on the planet right now… so this feels a bit of a letdown,” said dior_couture1245.

“The background is so annoying! The whole set doesn’t look very realistic,” complained Royal-Galliano.

Benn98 wasn’t into the set either. “Max Mara is the one brand where I appreciate studio photography because their clothing is actually interesting enough to distract from the dullness of the setting. Quite like the pieces here as well, but the setting is awful,” he said.

“Kris is so beautiful but she is too young looking for Max Mara in my opinion,” added apple.

“The clothes somehow seem a complete misfit on Kris. Not the right casting despite her being a great model,” bluebanter agreed.
