Cara Delevingne Enchants on Vogue Japan’s Fairy-Tale-Inspired November 2021 Cover

You probably already know that Mitsuko Watanabe is out at Vogue Japan. As her tenure draws to a close, there are zero signs of the magazine’s signature aesthetic (covers with white backgrounds photographed by Luigi & Iango). Instead, we’ve encountered covers photographed on location and the Japanese fashion bible’s November 2021 offering is no different. Seven years after her last appearance, Cara Delevingne is captured among the wilderness wearing an exquisite Christian Dior Fall 2021 Haute Couture piece chosen by Sissy Vian for the cover photographed by Camilla Åkrans.

The outcome divided our forum members, however. “I don’t dislike the photo at all, but I don’t know if it works for a cover,” voiced charles01.

“Beautiful cover, but I feel it looks more like a bridal supplement cover,” stated DK92.

“It’s definitely too Vogue Brides for my taste, not loving it, but not hating it, either. We’ve seen worse. The dress looks magical in the forest setting, it feels like a fairy-tale fantasy or something and I’m here for a little bit of that magic…” admitted aracic.

“I actually like this cover and Cara is certainly belonging to the better generation of nepotism models so I have nothing to complain about. Plus, I love the haunting effect of the image, which is quite intriguing to look at…” approved JohannesL.

“I almost rolled my eyes when I saw Cara x Dior, but I have to say, I actually like this cover quite a lot,” confessed [Piece Of Me].

FashionMuseDior is also pleasantly surprised: “It’s a very strong image with lots of texture from the dress to the environment, it can get lost from time to time, but the cover works generally speaking.”

“I love it. It gives mystical vibes…” shared PowerDroid.
