Barbara Valente, Anok Yai, Rianne Van Rompaey, Yilan Hua and Vittoria Ceretti Evoke the Spirit of Studio 54 in Fendi’s Spring 2022 Campaign

Craig McDean appears to be a favorite of Kim Jones with the designer welcoming back the photographer for a second time to lens Fendi’s latest campaign. Following Jones’ highly-anticipated debut campaign for Fendi last season, McDean and stylist Melanie Ward reunite for retro-inspired Fendi Spring 2022 ads. Barbara Valente, Anok Yai, Rianne Van Rompaey, Yilan Hua and Vittoria Ceretti pose for a series of photographs evoking a playful spirit and a modern take on disco glamour.

The end result divided our forums. “Looks very good!” approved mikel.

“Vittoria and Yilan turned out to be the best part of this campaign. It could’ve been just the two of them. Love it,” proclaimed WAVES.

“This is shaping up to be my favorite campaign of the season… It’s just so vibrant, colorful and joyous. All the girls are working it, but Rianne Van Rompaey may just be outshining everyone else here,” raved vogue28.

Nomar felt the same way: “I can’t deny this is eye-catching, the colors are so vibrant that it stands out amongst what a lot of other brands are producing.”

But not everyone agreed. “Much like the collection itself…this campaign was a good idea (with the styling and soft color palette), but it’s hideously executed. The models look inebriated and not in a good way!” called out YohjiAddict.

“That group shot is awful. America’s Next Top Model-level mess,” disapproved avonlea002.

“Everything about this looks seriously trashy and cheap: the art direction, the styling, the composition, etc. Heck, even Michael Kors has better campaigns than this!” declared Frederic01.
