Dakota Fanning Thinks She Was Too Young to Pose for Marc Jacobs

In an interview posted to Vogue UK earlier today, Dakota Fanning told a reporter that she was too young when she posed for Marc Jacobs‘ Spring 2007 campaign. To clarify, she was twelve.

“I was always into fashion because my mom has always been interested in fashion. She majored in fashion merchandising in college, and it’s always been something we have in common. When I did that first campaign for Marc Jacobs, I really wasn’t old enough to wear the clothes. He made all the clothes from the runway in my size. I still have them.”

Her statement comes just a week after her Marc Jacobs Oh Lola fragrance ad was banned in the UK for being too sexually provocative. In the ad, the seventeen-year-old actress was pictured with a giant florid perfume bottle lodged between her legs.

I don’t know where Marc Jacobs gets his creepy obsession with sexualizing underage blonde actresses, but he should see someone about that. It isn’t charming.
