Congratulations to Anna Wintour! Yesterday, the Vogue editor received the French Legion d’Honneur award from president Nicolas Sarkozy. The star-studded ceremony at the Élysée Palace in Paris was attended by Bernard Arnault, Karl Lagerfeld, Stefano Pilati, Donatella Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Alber Elbaz, Franca Sozzani, and Riccardo Tisci. One of my sources told me that while every great designer in the whole entire world (except for John Galliano, who was too busy trying to convince people that the whole "I love Hitler" thing was just a bad joke) was away from their studio celebrating Wintour's long career and gunning for a chance to get one of their dresses on the next cover of Vogue, Fashion took the car out without permission, went to a rager, and vomited on the lawn. Fortunately, Olivier Zahm and Terry Richardson were around and they agreed that Fashion was hotter when she was sick as a dog, so they took her back to their place.
In actual news, Anna Wintour received the award in a just-off-the-runway Chanel suit. Yes, she wore a look that had walked down the runway literally the night before, at the Chanel couture show in Paris. I can't believe she allowed Nicolas Sarkozy to put a pin through it.
