Lady Gaga’s 2009 Vogue Nippon Bondage Polaroid Outtakes

Two years ago, Lady Gaga was photographed by Nobuyoshi Araki for Vogue Nippon. The spread that ran in the magazine featured images of the rising pop star transposed against splatters of paint, but the just-leaked outtakes from the shoot are maybe a million times more incredible than the pics that showed up on newsstands.

These race, gritty Polaroid outtakes are exactly what we’ve been missing from Lady Gaga’s promiscuous public persona in the last year. In these pictures, the superstar might be as a fashion focused as ever, but the tousled styling and gritty, dirty mood gives these photos a dose of nerve that Lady Gaga always promises, but hasn’t been delivering. She looks like a really fashionable mess, not like a glitzy pop-cyborg, and I buy that the real Lady Gaga is a lot closer to whatever she looks like in these pictures than the hyper-sleek cartoon that shows up in her videos and on stage.
