There's some weirdness happening in the land of Chloe. Earlier today, Vogue Paris posted the French fashion brand's Spring print ad, featuring models Karmen Pedaru and Kate King photographed by Glen Luchford. The campaign image (pictured below) is lovely, but the casting comes as a surprise.
Back in November, Freja Beha Erichsen and Arizona Muse were spotted posing in head-to-toe Chloe (the exact some looks pictured in the print ads) outside Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. At the time, the reliable industry news site Fashionologie reached Chloe for a confirmation that the models were "indeed the faces of the Chloe Spring 2012 ads."
Paris Vogue's print campaign reveal came with a bit of explanation. My French is super-rusty, but here's the rundown: the item characterizes Freja and Arizona's casting as a "rumor," and reports that the two models were selected to star only in the campaign's video component.
The Paris Vogue item went on to note that Kate King opened Chloe's Spring 2012 runway show in October.
Chloe could not be reached for comment.
