Someone at IMG has been working nights putting together the Fall 2012 NYFW show package (a roster of the modeling agency's catwalkers, which goes out to runway casting directors and designers). The book contains 52 collages of the agency's models cut out of editorial spreads and pasted into iconic paintings. Spanning practically the entire (Western) history of art, from Giotto to Lichtenstein, the final images are very hit or miss, but so varied and high on drama they're a pleasure to look at all the same.
The collage format was a risky move, since the models could have easily been overshadowed by the source material: Ilse De Boer may be stunning, but she's no mother of Christ. But for the most part, the agency did a stellar job choosing strong editorial shots, and even though I have no idea how the unconventional approach will read to designers looking to cast their upcoming runway shows, I'd book these girls.
