Last night, The Heart Truth® held its 10th anniversary Red Dress Show to raise awareness for heart disease. The annual runway show pairs iconic celebrities with red dresses designed by some of New York Fashion Week's top designers. Because the crowd has so much affection for the familiar faces walking down the catwalk, because the participating celebs smiled and sauntered more than the typical runway model, and most importantly, because the walkers were walking for a cause, the show had this compelling kind of emotional texture. (I actually teared up when Debbie Phelps stopped at the end of the runway to kiss her son, Michael, on the cheek. Yeah. We don't ever have to talk about that again.)
We'll have more coverage of the show and the participants in the next couple of days. The Fashion Spot's Julie Bensman and Brendan Cannon set up camp on the red carpet, chatting up participating celebs like Minka Kelly, Patti Stanger, Gloria Estefan, and the legendary Linda Evans. The pair also ran into Bobbi Brown, who couldn't get enough of Cannon's red-white-and-blue jacket.
