These days when we hear the name Hobbs, we also think of it as being one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite stores. With humble beginnings as a standalone store in London’s pretty Hampstead, it has since expanded throughout the UK and Ireland with even a few international franchises.
Now, U.S. based fans of Kate Middleton's style will be happy to know that the British retailer has decided to try its luck overseas, and is reportedly opening up a shop inside five Bloomingdale's department stores stateside. This includes Tysons Corner in Virginia, The Shops at Riverside New Jersey, and Chestnut Hill in Boston.
The first in the series of openings took place this week in Bloomingdales on 59th Street in New York. The collections available perfectly sum up Hobbs’ British heritage with a selection of fine quality tailoring and accessories on offer. Price points begin at around $149 for jersey items to $225 and up for dresses.
If you can’t make it over to one of its U.S. concessions, or haven’t got the patience for one near you to open up, you can always peruse the virtual rails at Hobbs.com.
