You know that road trip you imagine taking with your friends that is beautifully shot and you all look amazing? Well Poppy Delevingne and Alexa Chung have just trumped it all, and it's really good.
Looking impossibly beautiful in the Wild West-inspired Pre-Fall shoot in Net-a-Porter's The EDIT, Poppy Delevingne talks candidly about the self-confessed boy-crazy best friend relationship, as well as admitting on Instragram, "The truth is out… My long standing affair with@chungalexa has been revealed."
Everything from whisky to skinny dipping comes up as Poppy waxes lyrical about everything from their first meeting at Storm model agency 10 years ago. Poppy recalls, "I remember thinking [Alexa] was very beautiful, almost cat-like, but definitely a bit of a bloke."
However, the turning point of their friendship, she says, was a spot of moonlight skinny dipping in Cannes, where she realised "it wasn’t just another friendship."
The pair is shot tearing it up in a soft top looking the epitome of laid-back luxury with Poppy in a fringed Michael Kors skirt and Zoe Karson Tee and Alexa far more relaxed in a plaid Elizabeth and James shirt. As well as being desperate to get hold of the clothes, you will just be so jealous that you aren’t on that road trip too, as they do sound like a lot of fun.
When it comes to their own clothes, though, Poppy admits she is a terrible culprit for over-packing, while Alexa is naturally the opposite. As Poppy describes it, “I’ll bring a suitcase the size of a dining table and still wear the same jeans, Converse and hideous sweater I’ve owned since I was 13. She, on the other hand, will bring a suitcase the size of a piece of calamari and yet each day she’ll wear something mouthwateringly stylish.” This explains why Alexa is the worldwide style icon that she is, even if Poppy Delevingne thinks she looks effortlessly stylish!
If you haven’t got enough of the beauty in the photographs and started planning your own beautiful escape, you can watch their impeccable selves on film as they chat about their perfect road trip. You watch the whole thing here.
