We’re nearly in August, and the September covers are slowly trickling out. Vogue UK has revealed Cara Delevingne as its cover star for the biggest issue of the year. This is Cara’s third time fronting the magazine — she previously covered its March 2013 and January 2014 issues. So, we guess British Vogue either really needs to reach out to different casting agencies for covers or, you know, it’s just running out of ideas.
This time around, the Louis Vuitton clad model is photographed by Mario Testino, serving up a modern 60s vibe, which didn’t go over too well in our forums.
Some thought the shot made Cara look younger than she already is: “I don’t know if it’s just me but I would love to see a model looking like a grown woman on a cover, not a twelve year old,” shared Tinsley V.
Forum member littlekiki agreed, “She looks like a four foot tall child. The jacket looks oversized on her.” Later adding, “There are going to be a lot of 14-year-old Instagram girls buying this issue.” Not sure what that’s supposed to mean, but to Vogue UK, probably money.
Obviously, few are feeling the cover, but I think Royal-Galliano summed up everyone’s sentiments pretty well: “For a fashion issue, it’s pretty lackluster.”
