Leaving baby at day care for the first time can be a traumatizing for mom and tots. When Sleepy Owl Pure Baby Care founder Natacha Rey dropped her 18-month-old daughter off for care, there were tears all day. To pacify her daughter (and herself), Rey took off her bracelet and asked her to keep it until she returned. This act inspired her to approach jeweler Erin Tracy with the idea of the Love Links necklace. A collaboration was born.
Made of 10K gold, sterling silver and chalcedony stone, the necklace has a detachable bracelet that moms can give their wee ones to help comfort them while they’re apart. And bonus: Rey and Tracy decided to donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation’s Women & Babies Program.
The necklace is made in Canada, retails for $180 and will be available online through January 2015.
