Alannah Hill’s New Design Team Launches Spring 2014 Collection

The iconic Australian fashion label Alannah Hill launched its Spring 2014 collection on Wednesday, August 27, with a runway show at a swanky club in Melbourne called Ms Collins. It was a big night for the brand and its new design team, which includes Creative Director Dimitria Papafotiou. She has big shoes to fill — the label’s founder, Alannah Hill, lost the rights to the company back in October 2013. Confusing, we know.

In the lead-up to the event, the high-end label wrote to its Facebook page, “See the Alannah Hill legacy transform into an exciting new era of fashion.” So we can expect some big changes in the designs Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Courtney Love, Nicole Kidman and Kylie Minogue have grown to love.

The launch of the collection, dubbed La Bombe, comes at an interesting time. It follows the recent news that Alannah’s new label, dubbed Louise Love, just secured a deal with Australia’s largest department store, David Jones. Louise Love will continue Alannah’s widely-recognised playful aesthetic and remind customers that she is no longer designing or offering any input into the Alannah Hill brand which she had been building since 1996.
