Exclusive Sneak Peek: Russh Magazine’s Interview with Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquière

In an exclusive for theFashionSpot, Russh magazine has given us a sneak peek into its October/November issue, featuring Louis Vuitton’s new creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière.

The mag was quick to snap up an interview with Nicolas, straight off the back of his debut show for Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2014 collection back in March. It was easily one of the most buzzed-about shows of Paris Fashion Week, which is why Russh simply had to find out more about the new era of the fashion house.

“I set up some rules today and the idea is to take apart that wardrobe in the future, and for it to breathe and to grow,” he told Russh of the timeless Fall 2014 collection. “I want it to be playful, easy, functional, nothing trying too hard. It’s Vuitton, it’s modern.”

The whole “nothing trying too hard” aesthetic of the collection is also the type of woman Nicolas would like to see dressed in Louis Vuitton, referencing his much-loved muse to suggest the idea. “There is that type of girl that I love like Charlotte Gainsbourg – they care, and in the same time, they don’t care.”

But with that being said, Nicolas wants the Louis Vuitton appeal to spread far and wide, rather than being suited to one particular type of character. “I have the vision of the Vuitton woman as not just one woman, it is many, many profiles,” he explained.

We don’t know about you, but we think Nicole Pollard fits the Louis Vuitton bill pretty well for Russh magazines 10th anniversary issue. She’s decked out head-to-toe in the luxe label’s Fall 2014 collection, looking effortlessly chic with roughed up brunette bangs and elongated stances.

You can read more on Nicolas’ interview when the Russh October/November issue hits news this October, 6.
