Creative Director Rebekka Bay Leaves Gap

Rebekka Bay is the latest designer to leave a brand, vacating her post as executive vice president and creative director of Gap. Not only is Bay leaving, but the retailer is eliminating her position completely. This comes at a rough time for the retailer, which just announced plans to shut down its Piperlime subsidiary in order to focus on more lucrative brands like Intermix and Banana Republic.

Gap has gone through a lot of changes in the past year. In addition to hiring CEO Art Peck after former CEO Glenn Murphy retired, it hired two new presidents: Jeff Kirwan (Gap) and Andi Owen (Banana Republic). Clearly, there are a lot of shake-ups going on at the company as it restructures.
