Public School Will Show Its Biggest Women’s Collection Ever This Season

Public School has enjoyed tremendous success in the past year, winning the 2014 CFDA Award for Menswear Designer of the Year and the International Woolmark Prize. Since its launch in 2007, most of the buzz has been around the brand’s menswear offerings and the question was always when the label would delve into womenswear. After plenty of prodding from industry people, including Anna Wintour, Public School bowed its first women’s collection during last year’s Fall 2014 shows.

A year and a CFDA award later, Public School is looking to beef up its women’s venture. According to The New York Times, the fashion house will show twice as many womenswear looks this season. But making clothes for women coming from a menswear background has not been without its challenges. Designer Dao-Yi Chow says the most difficult part is “learning the anatomy of a woman — and learning to speak a whole other language.”

Public School will show its Fall 2015 collection on Sunday and we can’t wait to see what the brand has in store.
