IMG Scouts New Locations for NYFW

This season marked Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s last turn at Lincoln Center. The question is now, “Where to next?” According to WWD, IMG has not confirmed a new location, though eventually, the event is supposed to wind up at the Culture Shed, the complex being built in the revamped Hudson Yards. The building was supposed to be completed by 2017, but it’s starting to look as if it won’t be done until at least 2019.

So, the search is on for a new home for NYFW. On the list of possible locations is Skylight Clarkson Sq in SoHo, which will be the home of Men’s Fashion Week in July. Skylight at Moynihan Station (the James A. Farley Post Office, across Eighth Avenue from Penn Station) is also another option, as well as just setting up shop on a pier in Tribeca.

This is also Mercedes-Benz’s last season backing Fashion Week, which will now be known simply as New York Fashion Week. Wherever Fashion Week’s hub winds up, one thing is for certain: The traffic around the venue will be, as it always is, a total mess.
