Avid wig-wearer Sia Furler hit the 23rd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party on February 22, and, shock horror, she wasn’t playing facial hide-and-seek with a completely impractical wig.
Instead she wore her face, which we think is beautiful, and styled her real hair up into a to-the-side topknot. Because she was really taking a walk on the wild side, able to see her surroundings and smell something other than a synthetic fringe, she even stepped away from her love of colourblocking and all things monochrome with a print-tastic twin set.
The singer-songwriter opted for Marc Jacobs’ Resort 2015 collection in a yellow petal-print dress over cut-off matching pants. The 39-year-old toned down the vivid pattern with peachy pointed-toe pumps and a black rectangle clutch, but kept the whole face reveal exciting with a bold lip.
We love the outfit, and the face, but Sia ended up the Vanity Fair party where she slipped back into her old habits. The wig was back, the prints were gone, and her face went back into hibernation. It was good while it lasted.
