M.Patmos Wins Women’s International Woolmark Prize

The Americans have come out on top this year for the International Woolmark Prize. Public School’s Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow picked up the award for menswear in January and now, M.Patmos‘ Marcia Patmos just beat out four other labels to take home the Women’s International Woolmark Prize. She triumphed over worthy contenders — Germany’s Augustin Teboul, Lebanon’s Bird on a Wire, Australia’s Strateas.Carlucci and China’s VMajor.

Judged by a panel that included Franca Sozzani, Victoria Beckham, Vogue China editrix Angelica Cheung and more, Patmos will receive $76,366 and a chance to sell her wares in stores like Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, mytheresa.com and 10 Corso Como, along with other high-end destinations.

“Thank you to The Woolmark Company for creating this great platform to support emerging designers,” she said. “I am looking forward to seeing what happens as a result of this new opportunity.”

Congrats to Patmos who repped hard for the Americans this year!
