The fashion set’s obsession with Pharrell Williams has come to a fever pitch. The CFDA is set to honor the producer, artist and fashion entrepreneur with the Fashion Icon Award at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony.
Pharrell, who has always been a stylish bloke, turned heads at last year’s Grammys in a tall, mountain man-style Vivienne Westwood hat that launched a thousand Internet memes and also had other people, like André Leon Talley, following suit. His collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Adidas, Moncler and Moynat have only further demonstrated his influence and keen eye for style.
“If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness. I cannot imagine anyone not seduced by him,” CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg said of the producer. Pharrell is set to collect his prize at the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 1 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
