Model Jessica Lawson and filmmaker Jasmin Kozowy are joining forces to shoot a documentary aiming to inspire social change from our generation, and are travelling to Iraq, Pakistan and Uganda in the process.
Dubbed Decide to Rise, the doco will focus on role models within society while also exploring other significant issues like education and poverty. “We want to reshape the perception that people like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are good role models for young women,” Ms Kozowy told The Daily Telegraph. “We want to ask the question ‘what does it mean to be a modern woman?'”
The pair has garnered generous support since unveiling the news of their forthcoming project, especially from Jessica’s fellow models. The likes of Montana Cox, Ollie Henderson, Valentina Sykes, Jason Dundas and Ivana Martyn-Zyznikow are getting behind the #idecidetorise hash tag and helping spread the word.
The pair will start the project following the release of Kowozy’s first film, Generation A, in Paddington this Wednesday.
