Zayn Malik has quit One Direction. ZAYN MALIK HAS QUIT ONE DIRECTION. We know. No matter how many times we hear or say it, it still doesn’t seem like real life. One person for whom the struggle is incredibly real is pop singer Samantha Jade, the support act during 1D’s Australian tour last month. She’s just as dumbfounded as the rest of us when trying to comprehend Zayn’s departure.
Talking to The Daily Telegraph at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards last night, the ‘Cheap Cheap’ singer said she was “shocked” and found the news “really upsetting”. Here, here, sister. You’re not in this alone.
“It’s always going to be upsetting when somebody leaves,” the 27-year-old pocket-rocket continued. “I remember when somebody left the Spice Girls I was devastated.” Maybe not too devo considering she referred to Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell as a mere “somebody”, but perhaps she’s still having trouble accepting that departure, too. Understandable. It’s a harsh reality we 90s girls deal with every day.
“But I think the show must go on and it is going on,” she added. We think she could be right considering Directioners around the world are praying for Niall, Harry, Louis and Liam as an awesome foursome. Our thoughts are with them all. That includes you, Sammy Jade. Our thoughts are with you too.
