L’Oreal Paris Tops the List of Most Valuable Beauty Brands

Brand Finance has compiled a list of the 50 most valuable beauty brands, and L’Oreal Paris has come out on top.

The list was put together by multiplying the brand’s revenues with their “royalty rate,” and L’Oreal appeared to be the brand with the biggest bucks, boasting a valuation of $11.21 billion. L’Oreal actually wound up far outpacing the other brands on the list – Gilette came in at second place at $8.99 billion, followed by Dove, at 5.82 billion.

L’Oreal Paris has been in the news quite a bit lately, having named their very first Asian-American ambassador, model Soo Joo Park, who called the appointment an “honor” in light of the beauty market’s shift to embracing multicultural beauty. “The world is getting smaller and the globalization of commerce is influencing industries like beauty and fashion,” she said. Perhaps this commitment to appealing to the beauty industry’s fastest-growing market might help in putting them even further ahead from their competitors over time.

Nivea ($5.32 billion), Chanel ($4.92 billion), Estée Lauder ($4.79 billion), Garnier ($4.63 billion), Olay ($3.99 billion) and Lancôme ($3.98 billion) rounded out the top of list.
