Royal Baby #2 Arrives, Kensington Palace Reaveals Her Name

Royal Baby number two is finally here! This weekend, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby girl, adding the newest member to the Royal Family. Weighing 8 pounds, three ounces, the princess was born on Saturday, May 2. According to reports, the baby was born just under three hours after the Duchess arrived at St. Mary’s Hospital and the family left the hospital just over 12 hours after their arrival.

Kate Middleton and Prince William presented the new princess outside the Lindo Wing, Kate dressed in a white Jenny Packham dress printed with gradient effect yellow flowers cascading downwards. Middleton also wore a Jenny Packham dress (a light blue polka-dotted number) when she presented Prince George to the public shortly after his birth.

A name for the new baby has not yet been announced, though some people are putting their money on Alice or Charlotte. We’re sure we’ll soon be hearing from the palace with an update.

UPDATE:  She has a name! Kensington Palace has tweeted the baby’s name, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The young princess shares names with her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and Prince William’s mother, the late Princess Diana.
