Gigi Hadid Debuts Vogue Australia Cover After Confirming Split with Cody Simpson

Gigi Hadid has scored prime position in the June 2015 issue of Vogue Australia, marking her first-ever cover for the Australian edition of the magazine. The news was unveiled on Gigi’s Instagram this morning, closely following the report of her split with 18-year-old Australian lover-boy Cody Simpson.

Us Weekly reported that Gigi’s rep confirmed the news, blaming the pair’s busy schedules for what appears to be a conscious uncoupling. “Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career,” Gigi’s rep said in the statement.

“They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future. They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other’s biggest supporters.”

Supportive they may be, but Gigi admits that she could be critical of bae’s music in the upcoming issue of Vogue Australia. “I always listen to his stuff the night after he records it. I usually get him to give it up right after he makes it,” she told the publication (via The Daily Telegraph).

“I always have an opinion, but he is so true to himself that I’m always supportive and he takes criticism really well if I have any,” she continued.

Vogue Australia hits news stands May 18. We can’t wait to see what else she might reveal.
