Target Commits to Size Inclusivity for Latest Swimwear Campaign

Target really seems to be taking the criticism about its former lack of clothing options for plus-size women to heart. The retailer added a bevy of plus options to its Lilly Pulitzer collaboration and also added  Ava + Viv, an entire range of plus clothing to the roster. Now, Target is doubling down on the size inclusivity angle with a new swimwear-focused video.

The retailer tapped Zanna Roberts Rassi for the Target Loves Every Body campaign, in which she helps four bloggers find the perfect swimsuit. Everything Curvy and Chic‘s Chantè Burkett, My Style Diaries‘ Nikki Minton, Fabulatina‘s Nashelly Messina and Simply Stylist‘s Sarah Boyd were tapped to model swimsuits, representing a diverse range of body types. Taking into consideration what each woman wanted to show off and which parts of their bodies they felt insecure about, they were matched with a swimsuit that made them feel sexy, confident and most of all – stylish. It is certainly a step in the right direction for Target, who seems keen on emphasizing its newly-established size inclusiveness, and it couldn’t come at a better time. There is a lot of money to be made in the world of plus-size fashion and if you’re delivering items that are as stylish as they are flattering, you can tap into an enormous market.
