Topshop Is Reissuing Some of Its Throwback Pieces for a Capsule Collection

Topshop is appealing to our thirst for nostalgia with its latest collection. The high street retailer is giving fans the opportunity to pick up some old school Topshop pieces with the announcement of a capsule collection reissue of some of popular older styles.

Topshop opens up its archives and reaching back, way back to resell some sought-after styles, going as far back as the 70s, 80s and (of course) 90s for super cool and trendy pieces that would totally work today. From a fringe-knit sweater to silver lamé prom dress, the collection is a blast from the past. Topshop creative director Kate Phelan says the retailer aimed to make sure the reissue pieces were as close to the originals as possible. “We enlisted the help of an archivist to source pieces from a variety of places,” she said, including her own personal archives. “I actually stumbled across a photograph of me wearing the exact tiered maxi dress, accessorized with a silk headscarf and carrying my pet guinea pig.”

Topshop isn’t just stopping at this collection. They’re encouraging folks to post images of their favorite throwbacks from the retailer on social media with the hashtag #bringthatback. So that old pair of Topshop pants you wore back in the 80s could totally be yours again. Ah, the power of nostalgia.
