MRP Opening First Australian Store This Year

South African retailer MRP is opening its first store in Australia on October 22, across a 1000m² space at Melbourne Central.

“We are thrilled to be opening our doors in the heart of Melbourne,” said MRP’s managing director, Nicci Lyne, in a press release. “Upon walking into Melbourne Central, we knew we’d found the prime location to begin our Australian journey, and we can’t wait to move in!”

MRP is one of South Africa’s most recognised brands, with over 440 existing stores, a booming online store which ships worldwide, and nifty collabs with the likes of designer Henry Holland, model Agyness Deyn and indie band Fun.

“As a business based in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re able to offer Australians a relevant, seasonal trend-led assortment,” said MRP CEO, Stuart Bird.

The store will carry clothing, accessories, footwear and sleepwear for ladies, men and kids at affordable prices, although it sounds as though MRP may have plans to expand their offering down under.

“While initially we will focus on our MRP apparel stores, there is potential to follow with our mrpHome and mrpSport divisions,” Stuart continued.

We’re sure MRP will make a great addition to the already-diverse offering we now have in Australia. Why stop now, right?
