If Rumours Are True, Beyoncé Is Making History with Vogue’s September Issue

A Bey fan account on Twitter posted a photo of the alleged cover today, ahead of its official release on Friday. But, is this a good photoshop job, or is it a history-making moment for the fashion and music industry alike?

While Vogue is yet to comment on the matter, if this shot is in fact legit, then Bey will be the first-ever African American musician to cover Vogue‘s September Issue. She will also be the third African American woman to appear solo on the cover of the issue, following Naomi Campbell in 1999 and Halle Berry in 2010.

This isn’t Bey’s first time at the Vogue rodeo. She’s graced the cover of the mag twice before: for the March 2013 issue as photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, and the April 2009 issue as photographed by Mario Testino. But nabbing the coveted spot for Vogue‘s September issue is a major coup.

This wouldn’t be the first time one of Vogue‘s September Issue’s have been leaked before its official release, with last year’s cover, featuring “Instagirls” Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss, revealed by fashion blogger Bryanboy.

The difference here is, Bryanboy is a fashion insider, if you will, not some devotee who set up a fan page to show just how devoted he is.

Still, we’re all for Beyoncé gracing the highly coveted spot on the September issue, even if truth of the matter is still up in the air.
