It seems like forever ago that Jay Lyon was all like, “I really love you, Whit” out the front of Diane Von Furstenberg in New York City, but Whitney Port hasn’t forgotten everything that the Aussie model did for her.
Speaking to Sydney Confidential, Whitney admitted that it’s Jay she has to thank for her love of Australia and her life here when she visits.
“Honestly, I feel like my connection to Australia began when I started dating Jay Lyon,” she revealed. “He introduced me to so many people out here and I just made some great friends and connections, so I kind of have to thank him for it.”
Whitney is now happily engaged to producer Tim Rosenman and claims to not keep in touch with Jay, who is now dating JETS model Melinda Kemp.
Earlier this year Tim revealed that he and Whitney “will probably move to Australia” and have even spoken about relocating down under.
In the meanwhile, Whitney’s circle has suggested she at least have a base in Australia. “Everyone keeps telling me I should get a place here, I might as well save myself these 15 hour flights,” she told Sydney Confidential.
Whitney is currently in Australia launching Priceline’s Festival of Beauty.
