Everything You Need to Know About Myer’s New Partnership with Topshop

Australian department store Myer has teamed up with British retailer Topshop for an exclusive partnership, hoping to give its customers a “different experience”.

Myer basically needed a new marketing strategy, deciding that buying a 25 per cent share in the Australian Topshop Topman franchise would be a good way to go about it.

In doing so, Myer will roll out concessions in more than 20 stores from November 2015 and be able to share in the success and future growth of Australian Topshop Topman in the process.

“Topshop Topman is a wanted brand globally and fully aligned with our strategic objective to provide a sharper, more focused offer to our customers,” Myer CEO Richard Umbers explained in a news release.

“The brand brings to Myer outstanding fashion and cutting-edge design for customers who appreciate up-to-the minute and affordable fashion.”

The decision was made based on the unique shopping experiences enjoyed by other department stores around the world, including Nordstrom and Selfridges.

The chairman of Topshop Topman Australia, Hilton Seskin, is looking forward to the partnership. “Topshop and Topman will offer the Myer customer a different experience, delivering fresh new product into store twice a week,” he explained.

“This is a very exciting time for our company to take this great proposition to Myer’s customers,” he continued. “The Myer partnership brings scale to the business within the Australian market.”

As long as Topshop is more accessible to us shoppers, we’re happy!
