It’s official: the Instagirls of the world are taking over in more ways than one. Boho babe Mimi Elashiry is an example of someone who is cleverly using her social influence to kickstart her very own designing career.
With over 772,000 Instagram followers, there’s no better time than now for the pocket-rocket to capitalise on her Insta-fame and show the world just how multidimensional she really is. She’s doing so by launching a swimwear line in collaboration with Glue Store, the same retailer she’s been an ambassador for, over the past 12 months.
Dubbed Cheeky Swim, the debut range will comprise of 16 different styles, and draw direct inspiration from Mimi’s boho-esque aesthetic, featuring an assortment of one-piece and two-piece separates in a soft-vintage, feminine palette centering around a blue, purple and pink colourways.
Although she’s just 19 and pretty much has the world at her feet with modelling, presenting, travelling and grammin’ responsibilities, Mimi admits she’s had her sights set on creating a label for quite some time.
“Designing a swimsuit collection has been something that I have wanted to do for a while, however, I did not realise how soon the opportunity would arise,” she explained in a news release.
Mimi also mentioned that her designs were influenced by what would work for Glue Store, where the range will be exclusively stocked, and, unsurprisingly, her double-tappers.
“I had some out there crazy ideas and designs, which I worked closely with the design team to work back into a capsule range suitable for the Glue Store customers and also, most importantly to me, my followers,” she said.
Mimi’s first design endeavour will be available from Glue Store from October 6, which we’re sure you’ll find out for a second, third and fourth time should you follow her account.
