These Two Luxury Brands Are Dominating Vintage Sales

If you’re constantly scoping out designer resale stores for fashionable vintage finds, it should come as no surprise that French labels Louis Vuitton and Hermès take the top two spots when it comes to luxury secondhand sales.

A study conducted by Exane BNP Paribas and secondhand online retailer Instant Luxe proved that “Louis Vuitton has extended its volume lead in both handbags and small leather goods in the first half of 2015, while Hermès heads the list in terms of average price increases.” WWD reports that “In the small leather goods category, Louis Vuitton dominates with a five-time advantage over Hermès.”

Hermès has also had a 23.6 percent spike on handbag prices in the first half of 2015, compared to this time last year. Researchers noted the increase was due to the recent revival of the Kelly bag, one of the world’s most luxurious handbags originally made famous by Grace Kelly.
