Two Siblings Created the First-Ever Transgender Swimwear Line

There are hardly any swimwear options that cater to the transmasculine population. Forced to settle for bikinis or T-shirts/tanks, the FTM (female to male) market has long been neglected and underserved. Identical twins Courtney and Chris Rhodes are hoping to revolutionize swimwear for nonbinary people with their innovative Bareskin top.

The FLAVNT Streetwear Bareskin top features a half binder silhouette that enables wearers to “feel closer to being shirtless than anything else out there.” It incorporates compression technology to help flatten the bustline for a more masculine aesthetic. And it’s available in a wide range of nude shades to cater to every skin tone.

The duo created a Kickstarter campaign to help bring Bareskin tops to mass market. They’re hoping to raise $25,000 in 24 days and ultimately hire a manufacturer to mass produce the tops. “We need help to get this project off the ground and to bring this top to the community that so desperately needs it,” they wrote. “Our goal is to have these tops available by Spring Break 2016 so that nobody has to deal with another dysphoria filled summer.” Check out their crowdfunding site here.
