Elsa Hosk Barely Wears Her Bikini on the Cover of the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Swimwear Catalog

Next to wearing the Fantasy bra, the greatest honor a Victoria’s Secret Angel can receive is fronting the cover of the brand’s swimwear catalog. That coveted opportunity goes to Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk this year. “I was freaking out,” she gushed to People. “I literally thought they were playing a joke on me. I know this is such a big deal, and I am so honored to be selected as the cover model. We have been on so many swim trips but you never go in thinking that is going to happen.”

The 27-year-old graces the catalog cover emerging from the water in a skimpy crochet bikini with the straps undone. Shot by Guy Aroch in Bora Bora, the stunning photograph captures a “natural moment,” Hosk explained. “I threw on swimwear and we had this idea that I would rise up from the ocean. I started untying the swimsuit and it started to fall off; it was a very natural moment. Those are just the kind of moments that Guy [Aroch] likes to capture. We all knew it was a great shot, but I had no idea it would be the cover.”

Shot on location in Bora Bora and Turks and Caicos, the catalog features Elsa Hosk alongside the Angels she “looks up to” like Candice Swanepoel. The beauties showcase the brand’s new “retro” line of bikinis, including Hosk’s suit on the cover, which she describes as “reminiscent of the 70s” or “what girls would wear to Woodstock.”

This isn’t Hosk’s first standout moment working with Victoria’s Secret. She’s infamous for almost hitting Ariana Grande with her Angel wings during the pop star’s performance at the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “The thing is, I actually never hit her. It just looked like it,” Hosk explained. “She ducked right in time.” Hosk recounts the exchange as her “most embarrassing” runway moment. At least now she’s going viral for the right reasons.

Hosk’s bikini is available on VictoriasSecret.com now for $38.50, in case you want to recreate her cover for the ‘gram this summer.
