Courtney Love couldn’t have picked a better time to venture into fashion design. The rock icon’s singular 90s style has been popping up everywhere lately, even on the Saint Laurent spring runway. Courtney is everyone’s grunge muse so why not skip the middleman and design a collection herself? She’s doing just that with her first-ever line for Nasty Gal.
Love, Courtney will feature 18 pieces including silk maxis, strap-heavy lingerie, lace kimonos, a mesh stiletto and a sparkling pair of Mary Janes. The first celebrity-designed collection for the brand, Love, Courtney ranges in price from $48 to $188.
To channel her signature aesthetic during her years as Hole’s frontwoman, Love unearthed old photos and “a few [pieces she] had saved” she told Vogue. The result isn’t a carbon copy of her vintage clothing but rather her “rock-star 90s stuff […] redid that in a more modern context.”
Smudge your eyeliner, smear grease through your hair and shop Courtney Love’s collection when it launches Thursday, January 14 on NastyGal.com and in their Los Angeles stores.
