Watch: David Jones Collaborates With Sydney Dance Company for A/W16 Fashion Film

The worlds of dance and fashion are intrinsically linked, from ballet flats to the athleisure craze. The A/W16 collection from David Jones is perfectly suited for a night of dancing with jumpsuits and skirts that allow for the full range of movement. To celebrate the season’s effortless silhouettes, the department store collaborated with the Sydney Dance Company to star in an exclusive fashion film. Directed by Clemens Habicht (the visionary behind music videos for the likes of Bloc Party and Tame Impala), the exhilarating visual finds dancers leaping, jumping and spinning to the sounds of Disclosure’s “When A Fire Starts to Burn” while dressed in the season’s latest looks.

“The partnership between David Jones and the Sydney Dance Company is a meeting of two brands who share qualities of innovation and spirit,” said Donna Player, David Jones Group Executive Merchandise. “Performance and fashion are both timeless expressions of individuality so it was only natural we celebrate our new season pieces through dance for our A\W 2016 campaign.” The Sydney Dance Company is joined by David Jones ambassadors Montana Cox and Jessica Gomez and international supermodel Catherine McNeil for an elegant dance party to celebrate the start of the autumn season.
