Andreja Pejic’s First Cover Appearance as a Women Is Here, Thanks to Marie Claire Spain

Our favorite Spanish fashion glossies are killing it this month, with Vogue Spain serving up a breathtaking cover and now Marie Claire Spain knocks it out the park with its latest unveiling. The magazine’s annual Grand Prix awards took place back in November, which saw transgender model  Andreja Pejic take home the trophy for model of the year. On top of breaking barriers and doing the LGBTQ community proud, Marie Claire just handed Andreja the March cover in true celebratory fashion.

After undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2014, the Australian beauty reappeared on the fashion scene walking the runway for Giles Deacon’s Fall 2015 show at London Fashion Week. Shortly after, the Australian beauty became the first transgender model to appear inside the page of American Vogue and landed a cosmetic contract with Make Up For Ever, which has just been renewed for a second year. Marie Claire‘s latest marks a momentous occasion as Andreja’s first fashion cover as a woman. Photographed by Pablo Zamora, Andreja looks effortless and at ease, working a Versace number selected by Jennifer Bauser.

Here’s to many more covers for Andreja in 2016!
