Oscar de la Renta Showing in Australia for the First Time Ever

Oscar de la Renta is set to hit the Australian catwalk for the first time in fashion history. The iconic label will close next month’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, held at Carriageworks from May 15th – May 20th.

Represented by Eliza Bolen, executive vice president and step daughter of the late Oscar de la Renta, the label will present the summer collection, alongside an almost entirely Australian line up of designers, reports Vogue.

We are yet to have word of any star-studded crowds that may be attending the viewing of the Oscar de la Renta finale of Fashion Week, however at New York Fashion Week, Taylor Swift was front and centre.

“Oscar de la Renta is one of the world’s leading luxury brands and its presence at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia reinforces Sydney as a global fashion capital,” said Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres in a statement.

“The attention of the fashion world will be firmly focussed on Sydney this May with the most influential buyers and media converging to see our local creative talent and designers make their mark and shine alongside renowned international brands.”

There is also word on the street that the infamous ODLR carnations will feature in the show. Stay tuned for more details.
