Zendaya’s Affordable New Shoe Collection Just Hit Stores (and We Want It All)

From the tips of her strands to the ends of her toes, Zendaya never looks anything less than flawless, which is why we absolutely cannot wait to get our hands on the star’s new shoe line. A collaboration between the Spiderman: Homecoming actress and her longtime stylist Law Roach (who, alongside Rita Ora, will be a panelist on the next season of America’s Next Top Model), the line, called Daya, is now available for purchase on Nordstrom.com.

Ranging from a very affordable $69.95 for a nude pointy toe flat to $109.95 for a pair of open-toed booties, the 12-item collection features shoes rendered in lace, suede and patent leather. In an interview with Glamour heralding the collection’s release, Zendaya, woman of the people, told the glossy she hasn’t forgotten her roots, hence the reasonable pricing: “I was that girl with working parents who couldn’t afford Louboutins and wanted a great shoe to wear to my 8th grade dance. But that wasn’t available or they seemed cheap and felt like a knockoff. There’s a market for really ‘luxury’ looking and feeling shoes at a good price point.”

The line certainly boasts a luxury look — the multi-strap metallic Amiee sandals are sleek, chic and suited for work and play, the Alfie lace-up booties offer a sound alternative to those ubiquitous Altuzarra heels.

When asked why she chose footwear for her first foray into design, Zendaya told Glamour she liked the narrow setting. She, like fellow style icon Alexa Chung, will only produce clothes once she feels confident she can do right by her consumer. “Well, first of all, I’m obsessed with [shoes]. But it was a good place to start because there are so many fashion categories you can get into, this felt like a more controlled environment where I could focus and get started. I don’t want to give myself too much too quickly and jump into the deep end when I’m not ready.”

As for her inspiration, Z credits the women in her life: “I’m really inspired by the women in my life. I have big sisters, my mom, my older niece who’s in college, and my little nieces who are soon going to start wearing heels and want to go to school dances.”

Best of all, the shoes are for anyone and everyone, as the politically aware actress pointed out: “By the way, this line isn’t just for women, because boys rock heels, too!”
