While we plebians may have a hard time getting our hands on a pair of Yeezy Boosts, members of the Kardashian clan have been spotted in the coveted trainers on innumerable occasions — even Kendall, who’s usually more of a lace-up stilettos and pointed-toe boots kinda gal.
So, color us unsurprised that unofficial Kardashian Kreative Director and dream brother-in-law Kanye West seems to have rubbed off on the Jenner design duo. Yesterday, Kylie posted a sneak peak of the upcoming Kendall + Kylie footwear line and we immediately saw the family resemblance.
One pair, in particular, touts the sock-like fit, mesh-body, subtle lacing and streamlined silhouette that no doubt helped boost the Yeezy to footwear fame. The other, more structured, style seems a nod to Nike’s mid-rise Huaraches. That said, these days sneaker giants like Nike and Adidas are constantly emulating one another, so we can’t really fault the girls for catering to market trends.
In addition to the Yeezy and Nike-inspired sneakers, the new collection will feature basket-like woven shoulder bags, lip-patterned purses, piggy backpacks and fuzzy keychains, along with a ton of new apparel. (Unfortunately, we couldn’t make out any particular styles from Kyle’s quick pan over the racks).
More details on Kendall and Kylie’s umpteenth collection to follow, but three things are for certain. One, these sneakers will definitely cost less than a pair of Yeezy Boosts. Two, they’re (slightly) less likely to sell out. Three, we’re sure Kanye will share his opinion on the copycat kicks on a future episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, now that he’s made his long-awaited return to the small screen. All causes for excitement, if you ask us.
