Giampaolo Sgura Takes Anna Selezneva Into the Future for Allure Russia (Forum Buzz)

The Russian edition of Allure is transporting us into the future with its September issue. The beauty-focused magazine enlisted Giampaolo Sgura to photograph Anna Selezneva for the front cover as well as a story for inside the issue. Anna is seen in the close-up cover image looking ready for outer space with shimmering light blue eye makeup and glossy lips, while gazing down the lens.

A few of our forum members seem to be confused about the cover image. “It is too zoomed in for my taste,” wrote KateTheGreatest.

“Agreed 100%,” replied Benn98. “Russian Allure started out on a high, but I think they’re taking these covers way too literal. This shot could’ve been perfect zoomed out a little.” He later questioned, “What’s being held against her face? A magnifying mirror, or spoon?”

MikeYork was also uncertain: “I don’t really understand the storyline in this cover shoot. Is it modern/future plastic surgery? But why the glasses? I don’t get it.”

“I want to know where her neck disappeared to. It seems like they cropped her from face down …” noted coutugh.

“That is psycho and not in a good way,” shared dodencebt.

“It’s too cold for September,” contributed TREVOFASHIONISTO.

Personally, I’m always up for close-up September covers (even though it’s supposed to be all about the new season collections), but I agree with our forum members on this one. Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss Star in My Burberry Fragrance Ad Campaign

Two of Britain’s top models, Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss, star in the latest Burberry ad campaign for the launch of the brand’s My Burberry fragrance. The fragrance, which is available as of today, was inspired by the brand’s classic Sandringham trench coat, and the bottle can be customized with up to three initials. The print and television ads were shot by Mario Testino and mark the first time that the two supermodels appear together in a campaign. Chief Creative Officer and Executive Director Christopher Bailey captured the spirit of the trench in the fragrance with bottle design details like a horn-finish cap and a woven bow. The 1.6-ounce bottle retails for $95 and is available at Burberry.com and Burberry locations.

Bambi Northwood-Blyth Takes Over Impulse’s Instagram

In her role as one of the new faces of Impulse, Bambi Northwood-Blyth has been placed in charge of the brand’s Instagram for an entire week. From September 1, the Aussie model and savvy Instagrammer will take over the social media page for a total of seven days.

The move is in conjunction with a new look and feel for Impulse, which recently launched Erin Heatherton, Zippora Seven and, of course, Bambi as the new faces of the brand. With Bambi’s Instagram following of 150K+, the decision to take advantage of the bushy-browed model’s always-rad aesthetic is a smart one. (more…)

Dem Foxes Take on a Stylish Beach Workout in Lorna Jane Designs

DJ duo Dem Foxes rock some pretty amazing bods, so it’s a little reassuring to get photographic proof of the pair exercising down by the beach instead of snacking away of chocolate bars. Somehow Rochelle Fox and Demi Bryant manage to make even working out look good, thanks in no small part to their brightly coloured threads by Aussie activewear label Lorna Jane.

Demi sported the black and white More T-Shirt with purple shorts, while Rochelle wore a love-heart tank tied to the side and Max Run Shorts with a multicolour waistband. To polish it all off, Rochelle pulled her hair into a side plait with the aqua-hued Weekend Visor. (more…)

Olivia Palermo Steps out in Rachel Gilbert for Magnum’s 25th Anniversary

Why wouldn’t you want to celebrate the tasty goodness of ice cream? Olivia Palermo can’t think of a reason, stepping out for Magnum’s 25th anniversary at Catalina, Rose Bay last night, September 1. For the high-profile dinner, Olivia opted for a black midi dress by our very own Aussie designer Rachel Gilbert.

The long-sleeve number featured green embellished detail around the waist and wrists, and was teamed with a leather military-style jacket draped over Olivia’s shoulders. The accessories, including Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and a simple clutch, were kept bronze in line with Olivia’s makeup and jacket stud detail.

Hubby Johannes Huebl, who ventured to Australia with Olivia for Chadstone’s Icons of Style launch last week, was no where to be seen at the Magnum event. Other fashionable guests, like Nikki Phillips, Laura Csortan and Danielle Cormack, were there to keep Olivia entertained, though.

Stylish Celebrity Ambassadors Launch Sydney’s Spring Racing Carnival

The Australian Turf Club today launched Sydney’s Spring Racing Carnival with the help of its stylish celebrity ambassadors including Rachael Finch, Jodi Anasta, Kyly Clarke and Rikki-Lee Coulter. If the outfits worn by the girls are anything to go by, fine headwear and midi-length dresses are definitely the go-to fashions on the field this season.

Singer Rikki-Lee looked simply elegant in a shapely black dress, a bronze headpiece fit for a Greek goddess on top of a side braid and nude two-strap heels. Jodi mixed masculine pieces, like a black top hat and white collar, with a patterned midi dress featuring a plunging neckline, plus black pointed-toe heels.

Michael Clarke‘s wife, Kyly, stunned in a navy, black and white colourblocked pencil dress by Alex Perry, teamed perfectly with black pointed-toe pumps and delicate headwear. Model Rachael looked adorable in a white high-neck dress with laser-cut detail, with strappy white pointed-toe heels and a sweet bronze headband.
