Harper’s Bazaar Germany’s February Cover Is Perfect for Spring (Forum Buzz)

The German edition of Harper’s Bazaar has become a fast favorite of ours. The publication scored Naomi Watts for its double December/January issue and now Malgosia Bela makes an appearance on the magazine’s most recent installment. The Polish beauty dons an eye-catching one-piece by Max Mara as she poses on location surrounded by manicured gardens. The magazine treats us to even more Malgosia as she is featured inside the issue for an accompanying spread, shot by Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello. Basically, Harper’s Bazaar Germany has nailed its first cover for spring.

Most members of our forum agree that the cover is a success. “Stunning, I love seeing her on covers, always a great choice,” enthused Miss Dalloway, setting the tone for a few more comments to come.

“Malgosia always looks amazing and this is no exception. Also I love how spring-y the cover is, I’m tired of winter. This feels fresh,” contributed KateTheGreatest.

Also full of admiration and hopeful for a warmer climate was burbuja8910: “Beautiful cover, Malgosia looks great & that means the spring is coming soon.”

GlamorousBoy simply described it as a “stunning fresh cover.”

Others aren’t so sure. “I love Malgosia but this just isn’t her best shot. She looks uncomfortable; I think we’ve all seen her at her best and this is not it,” wrote a disappointed Nepenthes.

“I’m feeling Spring! Malgosia is always a good choice for a cover but I’m not sure about the styling,” discredited narcyza.

Benn98 shared the same sentiments. “I do like the shot, but I’m not too sure about the green dress against the green background, with white fonts for a cover. Anyway, I’m looking forward to the content which is almost always solid.”

He’s right, the content is worth a look! Take a peek inside the thread for Malgosia’s full cover story and join the discussion here.

Naomi Campbell will once again show her charitable side by putting on a Fashion For Relief show the day before the start of London Fashion Week next month. The fashion show and auction will help raise awareness and funding to help fight Ebola.

Expect to see designs from Dolce & Gabbana, Azzedine Alaïa, Alexander McQueen, Balmain and many more. The deadly disease has not been in the news as heavily as it was late last year, but the supermodel is committed to helping the cause. Campbell has put on several Fashion For Relief events since founding the charity in 2005, raising money to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake and other devastated areas.

The show will take place at Somerset House and tickets will go on sale at Ticketmaster tomorrow for £50 a pop.

Rosie Huntington- Whiteley’s Hot Brother Is Modeling Now

It’s not really surprising that a genetically blessed model might have an equally blessed brother, but you know, hotness doesn’t run in every family. In the case of the Huntington-Whiteley’s though, it definitely does.

Meet Toby Huntington-Whiteley, the 24-year-old brother of model Rosie, who is trying his hand at modeling himself. And thank goodness he is, because it would be a darn shame not to share all that with the world. Toby stars in a campaign for menswear retailer Jacamo, his first time posing for a major modeling gig.

Photographer Joseph Sinclair captured young Toby, whose full lips are a dead giveaway that he and Rosie are kin. By day, Huntington-Whiteley works at London’s Workshop Gymnasium as a Performance Specialist, but we’re thinking the guy’s got the chops to quit his day job.

Alexander Wang Designs Furniture with Poltrona Frau

You love wearing his clothes and now you’re going to love lounging in his chairs. Alexander Wang has joined forces with Italian brand Poltrona Frau on a furniture collaboration that he’s been working on for the past two years. The three-piece range includes two black bean bag chairs (one in leather, the other in shearling) and a shagreen bar cabinet. All the pieces feature brass detailing.

Of course, furniture by a high fashion designer ain’t gonna come cheap. The chairs are $8,800 apiece and the bar clocks in at a whopping $18,500 — so we hope you have some really fancy booze to store in it.

The range will go on sale in February, so die-hard Wang fans with deep pockets in need of some new pieces for the living room may want to mark their calendars.

Candice Swanepoel Launches Charity Denim Collaboration with Mother

Candice Swanepoel: Victoria’s Secret Angel and now denim collaborator. The model has teamed with denim brand Mother for a capsule collaboration that can best be described as a cross between Candice’s own denim collection, the ease of the girl next door and the off-duty style of 90s supermodels. The washes range from medium to white and you’ll find skinny, boyfriend and shorts silhouettes in solid and distressed finishes.

Sales from the line will benefit mothers2mothers, a charity that helps mothers prevent the spread of HIV to their babies. Mothers2mothers is quite a popular charity with the fashion set. When Victoria Beckham auctioned off her wardrobe with The Outnet, proceeds from the sale went to the same charity.

Candice says she may consider doing more collections if this pans out. Judging from the jeans, we have a good feeling that it probably will. The collection is avaiable now online at Mother’s website.

Check out a few images from the collection below. (more…)

Andreea Diaconu Is Vogue Korea’s Prada-Clad February Cover Girl (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Korea is one of those editions that unfortunately often falls off the radar, but the magazine has caught our attention this month with its eye-catching yet simple cover. Andreea Diaconu is the magazine’s cover model of choice, her third for Vogue. The Romanian brunette beauty and favorite of Emmanuelle Alt was shot by Alexi Lubomirski in a classic studio setting, posing elegantly in Prada.

Surprisingly, the majority of our forum members are loving it! “Love this cover. Andreea’s beautiful face and features [should] really get her on more covers!” enthused justaguy.

“Gorgeous! I like everything about this, especially the pose,” contributed blusheels.

Forum member john2elmejor simply described the cover as “amazing!”

Koibito was reminded of something after looking at the cover: “Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady before she transformed.” Maybe it’s the hat?

Although for the sake of variety, a select few were disappointed. Like burbuja8910, who thought, “She looks terrible,” and wasn’t afraid to voice her opinion.

“I just wish Andreea didn’t look so old on the cover. She looks at least 20 years older than she actually is,” ranted niknak. Ouch, poor Andreea!

“There’s not a pore or a wrinkle on her face, how can she look 43?” questioned kokobombon, firing back.

The styling and cover overall are certainly unusual and we applaud Vogue Korea for that. Share your own opinion here.
