It turns out Australian women are just that little bit fonder of high heels than the rest of the world, and we have the research to prove it.
Footwear e-tailer Shoes of Prey revealed to Ragtrader that the Aussie shoe-loving mentality is along the lines of, “The bigger, the better,” with recent analysed sales data showcasing that Australians wear above the average global heel height. By much more than a measly millimetre, too. Throughout the world, the average heel height is 7cm, but Australian shoe lovers are fond of a 8.3cm heel on average.
There are specific parts of Australia we can blame for giving our country this increased average, though, with West Australians wearing the highest heels on average of all the states and Victorians likely to choose as tall as a 10cm heel. On the flip side, Canberra residents are the least likely to wear high heels, while Queenslanders are most likely to choose flats. South Australians love them some kitten heels which sit at around 5.5cm. (more…)
The editorial will give you all those “It’s almost summer” feels, which is fitting considering the unique location is a highlight of the fashion magazine’s Global issue. RUSSH editor-in-chief, Jess Blanch, said in a press release, “Today our universe seems bigger and more giant than ever and yet somehow we’re now all closer than we ever thought possible.”
Gemma’s editorial was shot by Stephen Ward in Broken Hill, NSW, and the mother-of-one glows with radiance in her rustic surroundings. With flawless makeup by Victoria Baron for Chanel and tousled locks by Alan White for GHD, this editorial marks a stunning addition to the ethereal beauty’s remarkable body of work. (more…)
Shanina Shaik is known for her badass modelling skills that landed her a coveted gig as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. But recently the New York-based beauty opened up about her personal life, including an exciting romance with her new beau, DJ Ruckus.
The pair were spotted sharing a passionate kiss in already-scorching Miami back in June, looking very much in love with one another, and now she’s giving us the highly anticipated details. The 24-year-old model recently told Sydney Confidential, “He’s a really great guy, we get along well, and we’re really happy.”
Before the Melbourne-born beauty started dating DJ Ruckus she had been linked to another musician, Justin Bieber. Of course this came after Shanina split from fellow model Tyson Beckford, after a long-term, on-and-off relationship which started in 2008. (more…)

In case you missed Taraji P. Henson‘s sexy cover from last month, we suggest you grab a copy quick now that W magazine is gearing up for the release of its September edition. The magazine unveiled the cover earlier today with a sultry Gigi Hadid showcased in a beautiful black and white portrait image with styling from Edward Enninful. Legendary photographer Steven Meisel stood behind the lens to capture the bombshell’s solo moment.
“Now THAT is the sort of cover I’ve been waiting for. Gigi doing glamour is always welcome in my world,” raved tigerrouge soon after.
Avogadro was a fan also, writing, “The BEST I’ve seen from to Meisel, he’s a master.”
Also showing the cover some enthusiasm was TeeVanity: “So gorgeous, love that she’s on the cover. She’s a star.”
“Great! Meisel is a genius because he gives us emotions. I feel something when I’m seeing one of his pictures. So joyful and optimistic even if it’s not groundbreaking. Gigi is a beautiful girl. She looks like a modern Michaela Bercu. That’s why I think so many people are obsessed with her. She is that kind of 80s beauty,” noted Lola701.
“Ah I love it! Gigi by Meisel! Wow. This is beautiful. She is beautiful,” shared an elated MON.
You’ll love Gigi’s accompanying cover story, which can of course be viewed via our thread here. Drop us a comment!
