Leave it to someone like Jeremy Scott to bring us a fragrance that blows our minds…and senses. Moschino has certainly lived up to expectations after Scott unveiled his debut fragrance for the Italian fashion house last year and had us mesmerized for months. Now onto his second, Fresh Couture is set to raise the bar even higher. Contained in a bottle to resemble a household cleaning product, Moschino’s new scent is accompanied by an even more spectacular advertising campaign — and we’re loving it. Shot by Steven Meisel, the legendary and iconic Linda Evangelista is crowned Domestic Goddess of 2015, scrubbing away as she clutches the bottle while fetching us bucketfuls of nostalgia.
The campaign image had our attention immediately. “I like this. Jeremy’s Moschino is the ultimate punchline gimmick for the kids anyways. Having a Windex bottle as a perfume bottle is actually ingenious in that sense. They’ll love it, pulling this out of their McMoschino bag for lolz. Linda as the cleaning lady is priceless,” raved Phuel.
“I appreciate it’s something different from the usual formula for perfume ads, typically featuring romantic flowers and rumpled bedsheets,” tigerrogue said in appreciation.
Kokobombon was quick to add, “Plastic Fantastic! Is that the actual bottle? You’d spray perfume like that? I’m so buying this, kitsch galore!”
Also showing great enthusiasm toward the image was Spike413: “This is so, so fun. The idea for the bottle reminds me, very slightly, of when Diesel housed their fragrances in weed killer spray bottles. Equally clever and silly.”
“I love it! The bottle is cute and Linda looks great. I’m curious to smell it now,” confessed GivenchyHomme.
Be sure to take a sniff once Fresh Couture hits shelves worldwide November 1 and in the meantime, drop us a comment here.
Kanye West debuted his second Yeezy collection in conjunction with Adidas last month at New York Fashion Week, which was met with decidedly lackluster reviews. Expressing some mixed emotions about his role as a fashion designer, the rapper-designer feels the fashion world has discriminated against him because he’s not gay.
“I feel like I got discriminated in fashion for not being gay,” he told SHOWstudio in a recent interview. “In music, you definitely get discriminated in music if you are gay. It takes amazing talents to break down barriers. Everyone thought that when Frank Ocean dropped that it was going to be bad for his career. I feel like it’s so cliché to speak about him as it relates to this subject, but there are people who broke the ground and he broke the ground. The people that break the stereotypes make history.” (more…)
With Alexander Wang’s final Balenciaga collection showing at Paris Fashion just last week, we knew there would be an announcement coming soon. Today, the brand announced it’s new artist director, Demna Gvasalia.
The 34-year-old designer attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, at which he earned many awards and recognition from the industry. Gvasalia launched his first collection in 2007 at Tokyo Fashion Week and was later tapped by Maison Martin Margiela to head its women’s collections from 2009 until 2013. He was later appointed senior designer of Louis Vuitton’s women’s ready-to-wear collections before launching his own label, Vetements, at Paris Fashion Week in 2014. Needless to say, his resume is impressive. (more…)
The 72-year-old bazillionaire is claiming that 26-year-old model Gabi faked her pregnancy with his unborn child, which she reportedly miscarried just over a week later due to a nasty fall down a staircase. “I’m done. We’re divorcing. The whole pregnancy thing was false,” he told Daily Mail Australia as he was boarding a flight home from New York, where he says Gabi will now live.
Amidst rumours from the public that the pregnancy announcement was a cry for publicity, due partly to an image of a positive pregnancy test taken from Google, Gabi insisted at the time, “I would never do this for a stunt, that’s a horrible thing to say.” (more…)
Nela Zisser might have a knack for modelling, but the New Zealand babe can also devour a meal like it’s no one’s business. The 23-year-old set out to beat the McDonald’s Happy Meal record set by American competitive eater Matt Stonie, who smashed the feed in only 16 seconds, and captured it all on tape for our viewing pleasure.
